People who help us in our local community. People Who Help Us in Our Local Community
Last academic year younger students were visited by a policeman. The kids enjoyed it so much we decided to repeat the experience. The agent Juan Antonio, a local police in La Nucia, came with his vehicle and many items of equipment used by the police. The children experienced some aspects of what being a police officer wearing his hat, blowing the whistle and flashing lights and sirens of the car!
All children greatly enjoyed the experience.
Another visitor was received at the school of Trinidad Dr. Fuster, who kindly offered to talk with students. The children began singing "Miss Polly and Doyy" which is a well known children's song about a doctor who visits a sick wrist. The doctor showed the use of medical devices that were in his briefcase and the children had the chance to play doctors and patients and to test the stethoscope to each other. There was no shortage of volunteers for patients who needed bandages!
It was a great opportunity for children to learn first hand about the people who help us by reinforcing the work done in class, and also to establish a relationship with our local community.
A whole Elian's staff would like to thank Juan Antonio Trinidad and dedicated their time and assistance to the education of our students.
