We all thoroughly enjoyed the trip through popular songs from musical cartoons. The concert was titled “How the Cinema Sounds”. Our children and their teachers joined in singing and clapping to the most popular songs. In the photograph you can see Miss Maeve and Miss Alex on the stage with some of our children wearing masks singing and dancing to The Lion King.

Todos disfrutamos del viaje a través de las canciones de películas de dibujos animados. El concierto se titulaba “Cómo suena el cine”. Nuestros alumnos y profesores aplaudieron y cantaron las canciones más populares. En la imagen podéis observar cómo Miss Maeve y Miss Alex, junto con algunos de nuestros alumnos, llevaban sus máscaras mientras bailaban y cantaban El Rey León.

It was a wonderful experience for our pupils to listen to live music and live singing voices. All our children said they had enjoyed the performance and of course the most popular song was from Sponge Bob. Every child in the audience joined with enthusiasm and sang every word.

Escuchar y experimentar la música en vivo y en directo, ha sido una gran experiencia para nuestros alumnos. Todos nuestros alumnos and disfrutado del espectáculo, y por supuesto, la canción más popular fue Bob Esponja. Todos y cada uno de los niños participaron con entusiasmo y conocían todas las letras de las canciones. 

We all watched the big screen with bated breath as the results of the competitions were announced. We were all aware of the large number of entrants and the competition from other school was of a very high standard.

Todos mirábamos con gran expectación la gran pantalla mientras anunciaban los resultados de las competiciones. Éramos conscientes del gran número de participantes y el nivel de competencia con los otros colegios era muy elevado.

The most important for us was that we had over 20 pupils taking part with enthusiasm and illusion in the championship.
When Jordi Cruz announced that Christian Korkiakoski an Elian’s pupil had won first place in 8-9years.
Pre Kids level we were all delighted. Next came the turn to announce winner of the Pre Kids 10-13years; we are pleased to announce that Aexandre Pallarés an Elian’s Saturday Aloha pupil was the winner. We had a number of pupils who were fourth in their level.
Our pupils are now working hard to prepare for the National Championship which is going to be held in Valencia this year.
Lo más importante para nosotros era el hecho de tener a unos 20 alumnos participando con ilusión y entusiasmo en la competición.
Entonces, Jordi Cruz anunció que Christian Korkiakoski, un alumno de Elian’s, había ganado el primer premio para alumnos de 8-9 años de edad.
Los niños del nivel Pre estaban encantados. A continuación llegó el turno al ganador de los participantes de 10-13 años; y tenemos el placer de anunciarles que Alexandre Pallarés, un alumno de Aloha de las clases del sábado de Elian’s, fue el ganador. También tuvimos a varios alumnos que quedaron en cuarto lugar en su nivel.
Nuestros alumnos están trabajando duro en prepararse para el campeonato nacional de Aloha que tendrá lugar este año, en Valencia.

Saturday 21st January at 16.00 Elians British School Castellón Auditorium was full to capacity. Over 100 children and their families and friends enjoyed the 2nd Annual Castellón championship. Jordi Cruz the presenter of Art Attack presented the Aloha trophies and the competition along with Raúl Soler the Director of Aloha Mental Mathematics Castellón.

El sábado 21 de Enero a las 16:00, el auditorio de Elian’s British Castellón llenó su capacidad. Alrededor de unos 100 niños y sus familias y amigos disfrutaron del 2º campeonato anual de Castellón. Jordi Cruz, el presentador de Art Attack, presentó la competición de Aloha y repartió los trofeos, junto a Raúl Soler, director de Aloha Mental Mathematics en Castellón.

Aloha pupils from eight schools in the Castellón area joined together to compete against each other in 4 levels of mental mathematics. The competition was exciting and very intense.
Each pupil had a 5 minute test in which he/she had the chance of completing 70 mental mathematics questions.
The youngest pupil taking part was 4 years of age and the oldest 13 years of age. In the photograph you can see our 6-7 year olds with Jordi Cruz a very popular presenter from Disney Channel.

Los alumnos de Aloha de ocho colegios de la provincia de Castellón se reunieron para competir entre ellos en 4 niveles de cálculo mental rápido en matemáticas. La competición fue emocionante e intensa. Cada alumno hacía un test de 5 minutos en el que tenía la oportunidad de responder a 70 preguntas de matemática mental.

El alumno participante más joven tenía 4 años  y el mayor 13 años de edad. En la imagen podemos  ver a nuestros alumnos de 6-7 años con Jordi Cruz, el famoso presentador de Disney Channel.

Six local school choirs sang their hearts out in Castellón Theatre in front of all their families and friends. It was the first year Elian’s British School Castellón had taken part in this annual school’s Christmas concert.

Seis coros de colegios de Castellón cantaron en el Teatro Principal para sus familias y amigos. Elian’s British School Castellón participó en este concierto anual de Navidad.

We are very proud of our pupils, although they were the first to sing they sang beautifully. Our choir although still small in numbers sounded wonderful in the huge theatre. School received a silver trophy from the organizers of the concert. The children were given a bag full of surprises for taking part. We all had a wonderful afternoon and we are looking forward to participating in the concert next year.

Estamos muy orgullosos de nuestros alumnos, a pesar de ser los primeros en actuar, cantaron maravillosamente. Nuestro coro, todavía pequeño, sonó estupendamente en el gran teatro. Nuestro colegio recibió un trofeo de plata de parte de los organizadores del concierto. Los niños recibieron una bolsa de regalo llena de sorpresas por haber participado. Todos pasamos una tarde agradable y deseamos tomar parte del concierto el próximo año.

Years 6/7 have been working on a large 3D Nativity scene. Our pupils have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and they can’t wait to finish the scene next year.

Year  6/7 han estado trabajando en un gran proyecto de un Belén en 3D. Nuestros  alumnos han disfrutado muchísimo de la experiencia  y están impacientes por terminar el decorado,  el próximo año.

Our oldest pupils have had many new experiences this Christmas designing and creating Christmas Presents for their families. They have loved the idea from the beginning to create a very large Nativity scene. Next year they will make the missing characters. This project will continue next year and possibly the year after. Well done to every one who took part!

Nuestros alumnos más mayores han disfrutado de nuevas experiencias diseñando y creando regalos de Navidad para sus familias. Desde el principio les encantó la idea de crear un gran Belén. El próximo año realizarán los personajes que faltan. Este proyecto continuará el próximo año y seguramente el siguiente. ¡Enhorabuena a todos los participantes!

Saturday 10th December pupils and parents dedicated the afternoon to put smiles on the elderly people’s faces in a residence in Torreblanca. Our pupils sang, danced and played the piano in a Christmas concert.

El sábado 10 de diciembre, alumnos y padres dedicaron la tarde a hacer sonreír a los ancianos de una residencia de Torreblanca. Nuestros alumnos cantaron, bailaron y tocaron el piano en el concierto de Navidad.

Elian’s Castellón are very proud of their pupils and parents because they volunteered their Saturday afternoon to make others happy. The concert was a wonderful experience for these young pupils. They had the pleasure of listening to a British adult choir and they also had the opportunity to speak with them. They all sang and danced wonderfully singing Christmas songs and Spanish dancing. The elderly people enjoyed listening to and watching these very young pupils who demonstrated their talents, confidence and excellent behavior.

En Elian’s Castellón estamos muy orgullosos de nuestros alumnos y padres porque se ofrecieron a dedicar la tarde del sábado para alegrar a otras personas. El concierto fue una experiencia fantástica para nuestros jóvenes alumnos. Todos cantaron y bailaron estupendamente villancicos y danza española. La gente mayor disfrutó viendo como estos alumnos tan jóvenes demostraban su talento, desparpajo y excelente comportamiento.
